DEF Death Statistics

The Death Statistics provide information on the deaths of people residing in Catalonia according to their demographic and social characteristics. The results are published annually and are territorially broken down by municipalities and counties and for areas in the Territorial Plan, provinces and Catalonia.

Idescat carries out these Statistics, in cooperation with the INE and the Ministry of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya, based on data from the Medical Death Certificate-Death Statistics Bulletin, document by means of which the death is recorded in the Civil Registry.
