A total of 23.6% of the employed population in Catalonia stated that they had worked at least one Saturday each month in 2025 (0.1 points more than the year before), according to the Economically Active Population Survey. The employed population who worked at least one Sunday each month was 14.9% (1.2 points less than in 2024).
Regarding shift work, the percentage of male employees who worked in shifts decreased by 0.5 points compared to 2024 (16.8%). In the case of women, the proportion increased by 0.9 points (15.4%).
13.2% of the employed population worked more than half of days until late in the afternoon (0.1 point more than in 2024). By sex, 12.8% of men and 13.6% of women did so.
In 2025, 11.1% of employed men were executives of small, medium-sized or large enterprises, compared with 6.1% of employed women. Furthermore, 72.6% of employed women had bosses and no subordinates, while this is the case for 63.2% of men.
