Statistics on social inclusion income. 2024
During 2024, a monthly average of 47,767 guaranteed income for citizens were paid out, representing an annual sum of 393 million euros. The monthly average of beneficiaries was 98,809, and the average benefit in December was 585 euros.
Compared to 2023, there is a 9.1% decrease in the number of benefits. This decrease in the number of cases and beneficiaries is the result of the increased family income, the termination of benefits within the biennial reviews of the cases on guaranteed income for citizens, and the favourable labour market trend, which is removing people who are full-time employed from the benefits. As for the economic volume, a drop of 5.5% is registered in relation to the previous year. Idescat also provides this information by municipalities, counties, and other territorial areas.
In terms of active inclusion income, an average of 7,478 benefits were paid out in the same period, with a total amount of 44.3 million euros. This benefit meant an average monthly income of 498 euros for the beneficiaries. Compared to 2023, the number of benefits decreased by 5.3% and the economic volume by 3.9%.
