Industrial Production Index. 10/2024

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) increased by 3.4% year-over-year in Catalonia in October 2024. By large industrial sectors, all of them increased: energy (15.4%), capital goods (4.1%) and intermediate goods and consumer goods (1.6% both).

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) increased by 8.6% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) by 9.5%. By large industrial sectors, all of them increased: energy (17.1%), capital goods (11.2%), consumer goods (8.0%) and intermediate goods (7.3%).

Finally, by industrial divisions the highest creases where recorded by the electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (34.0%) and by the manufacture of pharmaceutical products (20.8%), while the only decrease was found in the paper, graphic arts and recorded media industries (−4.2%).
