Industrial Price Index. 10/2024

The industrial products price index (base 2021=100), which does not include energy, increased by 0.8% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in October 2024.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) decreased by 1.7% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices decreased by 11.3% and those of intermediate goods by 0.9%, while prices of capital goods increased by 2.8% and those of consumer goods by 1.5%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in printing and reproduction of recorded media (−4.3%) and in industry wood and cork, except furniture; articles of straw and plaiting materials (−2.5%). By contrast, the most significant increases in prices were registered in metallurgy; manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (5.5%) and in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (4.0%).
