Industrial Production Index. 07/2024

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) increased by 1.1% year-over-year in Catalonia in July 2024. By large industrial sectors, there was an increase in consumer goods (4.3%), intermediate goods (1.0%) and energy (0.8%), while capital goods decreased (−0.5%).

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) increased by 8.2% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) increased by 7.4%. By large industrial sectors, all of them increased: consumer goods (11.3%), intermediate goods (6.8%), capital goods (6.3%) and energy (2.0%).

Finally, by industrial divisions the highest increases where recorded by the manufacture of electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (20.7%) and the manufacture of pharmaceutical products (18.5%), while the only decrease was registred by the manufacture of basic metals and metal products (−1.5%).
