Industrial Production Index. 06/2024

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) increased by 6.5% year-over-year in Catalonia in June 2024. By large industrial sectors, there was an increase in all type of goods: consumer goods (8.6%), intermediate goods (6.4%), capital goods (3.8%) and energy (1.7%).

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) decreased by 2.9% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) by 2.6%. By large industrial sectors, all of them decreased: capital goods (−5.8%), intermediate goods (−2.0%), consumer goods (−1.6%) and energy (−0.3%).

Finally, by industrial divisions the highest decreases where recorded by the textile, clothing, leather and footwear industries (−10.6%) and the manufacture of basic metals and metal products (−10.1%), while the electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (8.9%) and the manufacture of pharmaceutical products (4.8%) increased.
