Statistics on Rural Tourism Accommodation Activity. Q2/2024

The number of overnight stays in rural tourism establishments in Catalonia decreased by a year-over-year 13.5% in the second quarter of 2024, according to provisional data from the Rural Tourist Accommodation Occupancy Survey.

By country of origin, the number of overnight stays of domestic tourists fell by 15.0% (Catalan tourism decreased by 10.7% and that proceeding from the rest of Spain by 62.8%) and foreign tourism decreased by 6.8%.

On the other hand, the number of travellers registered in rural tourism establishments fell by a year-over-year 5.3%.

Note that in 2024 Easter was celebrated in March, while in 2023 it took place in April.
