Exports increased by a year-over-year 2.3% and imports decreased by 2.8% in Catalonia in May 2024.

By economic destination, exports of consumer goods increased by 4.6% and intermediate goods by 1.6%; on the other hand, capital goods decreased by 7.1%. By geographical area, sales increased in Central and South America by 26.4%, in North America by 14.7% and in the rest of the world by 14.3%; on the other hand, sales in other countries of Europe decreased by 8.3% and in the European Union by 2.6%.

As for imports by economic destination, imports of consumer goods decreased by 3.8% and intermediate goods by 2.9%; on the other hand, capital gods increased by 1.7%. By geographical area, purchases in other countries of Europe decreased by 21.2%, in North America by 4.7%, in the rest of the world by 3.6% and in the European Union by 0.7% ; on the other hand, purchases in Central and South America increased by 22.9%.
