Statistics on Salaried Employment and Self-Employment according to Social Security Affiliations. 06/2024. Provisional data

The number of affiliations to the General Social Security Scheme with location of the contribution account in Catalonia increased by 3.7% year-over-year in June 2024 and stood at 3,152,670 affiliations, according to provisional data. By counties, those with the highest relative increases were El Pallars Jussà (32.7%), El Baix Penedès (24.6%) and El Solsonès (14.3%). On the other hand, L'Alta Ribagorça (−0,5%) and El Lluçanès (−0,4%) are the only counties that have recorded decreases. The largest increases in absolute terms were recorded in El Barcelonès (48,105 affiliations), El Baix Llobregat (11,185 affiliations) and El Vallès Occidental (9,095 affiliations), while L’Alta Ribagorça and El Lluçanès have had a slight loss of affiliations (−5 affiliations each). It should be taken into account that the variation rates are influenced by administrative changes made in the last quarter of 2023 to the contribution accounts that affect the Public Administration and Education sectors and especially in the counties of El Baix Penedès and El Pallars Jussà; moreover, these changes are in addition to the territorial changes resulting from the creation of El Lluçanès, the change of country designation to Sant Feliu Sasserra, which affects the counties of El Lluçanès and El Bages, and the change of county designation of Biosca and Torà, which affects the counties of El Solsonès and La Segarra.

The number of self-employed workers carrying out economic activities in Catalonia rose by 1.5% year-over-year to 567,825 affiliations. The counties that have recorded the greatest increase in relative terms are El Solsonès (11.6%, affected by the change of county designation of Biosca and Torà), El Pallars Sobirà (3.1%) and La Selva (2.5%). In absolute numbers, the growth was led by El Barcelonès (4,095 affiliations), El Vallès Occidental (795 affiliations), El Vallès Oriental (545 affiliations) and El Baix Llobregat (515 affiliations). On the other hand, El Lluçanès (−10,1%), La Segarra (−9.5%, affected by the change of county designation of Biosca and Torà), La Terra Alta (−3,6%) and L'Alta Ribagorça (−2.1%) are the counties with the largest relative decreases, and La Segarra (−190 affiliations), El Segrià (−130 affiliations), El Lluçanès (−70 affiliations) and La Noguera (−65 affiliations) have done so in absolute terms.

The number of contribution accounts to the General Social Security Scheme in Catalonia increased by 0.9% year-over-year (2,152 contribution accounts) to 250,007 accounts. The counties that have led the growth in relative numbers are El Solsonès (9.3%), El Pallars Sobirà (4.4%) and La Cerdanya (4.3%). In absolute numbers, El Barcelonès (1,164 contribution accounts), El Baix Llobregat (208 accounts) and El Gironès (120 accounts) are the counties that have recorded the greatest growth. On the other hand, the counties that have recorded the largest decreases in absolute terms are La Segarra (−68 contribution accounts), El Lluçanès (−26 accounts), La Selva (−24 accounts) and Les Garrigues (−23 accounts).
