Exports increased by a year-over-year 5.6% and imports by 18.3% in Catalonia in April 2024.

By economic destination, those of consumer goods increased by 10.2%, those of intermediate goods by 3.4%, while capital goods decreased by 2.4%. By geographical area, sales increased in North America by 33.2%, in the rest of the world by 18.5%, in other countries of Europe by 12.0% and in the European Union by 2,9%; on the other hand, sales in Central and South America decreased by 17.6%.

As for imports by economic destination, imports of all goods increased: intermediate goods by 24.1%, capital goods by 24.0% and those of consumer goods by 6.0%. By geographical area, purchases increased in Central and South America by 55.0%, in North America by 50.0%, in the rest of the world by 18.9%, in the European Union by 13.9% and in other countries of Europe by 10.0%.
