Exports decreased by a year-over-year 20.4% and imports by 12.5% in Catalonia in March 2024.

By economic destination, exports of all goods decreased: those of capital goods by 30.6%, those of intermediate goods by 30.0% and those of consumer goods by 1.5%. By geographical area, sales decreased in Central and South America (−39.6%), in other countries of Europe (−25.3%), in the European Union (−19.2%) and in the rest of the world (−17.7%); on the other hand, sales in North America increased (8.7%).

As for imports by economic destination, imports of all goods decreased: intermediate goods by 13.5%, consumer goods by 11 .3% and those of capital by 10.0%. By geographical area, purchases decreased in other countries of Europe (−35.0%), in Central and South America (−24.7%), in North America (−16.3% ), in the rest of the world (−10.9%) and in the European Union (−8.7%).
