Large Store Sales Index. 01/2024

The Large Store Sales Index (IVGS) of Catalonia at current prices decreased by 1.8% in January 2024 compared to the same month of 2023. By product group, sales of other products decreased by 3.1% and food sales by 0.2%.

At constant prices (i.e., eliminating the effect of prices) the index registered a year-over-year negative variation of 5.4%. Food sales decreased by 6.3% and sales of other products by 3.9%.

oBy publishing the data for January 2024 on base year 2021, Idescat is complying with European Commission Implementing Regulation 2020/1197 on short-term statistics, which establishes a change of basis in 2021. The linked sets of the indexes in base year 2021 have been published at current prices as of January 1995 and at constant prices as of January 2003.
