Business Climate Survey. Q4/2023

The business situation of companies in Catalonia in the fourth quarter of 2023 registered a balance of 7.4 points. The percentage of managers of business establishments with a favourable opinion of their business situation in the fourth quarter was 21.7%, while 14.3% had an unfavourable opinion. The remaining 64.0% considered that their business situation had remained stable.

By sector of activity, all sectors showed positive balances. The accommodation and food service activities sector, construction and other service businesses performed particularly well, with balances of 19.8, 10.5 and 8.5 points, respectively.

Moreover, expectations regarding the business situation for the first quarter of 2024 registered a balance of 4.0 points. A total of 18.3% of managers believe that their business situation will be favourable, while 14.3% believe that it will be unfavourable. The remaining 67.4% believe that it will remain stable.
