Exports increased by a year-over-year 8.3% and imports increased by 3.8% in Catalonia in October 2023.

By economic destination, exports exports of consumer goods grew by 17.4% and intermediate goods by 3.0%; on the other hand, those of capital decrease by 0.8%. By geographical areas, the increases in sales in the European Union (14.0%), in other countries of Europe (17.0%) and in North America (19.1%) stand out; the decreases in Central and South America (−21.0%) and in the rest of the world (−9.0%) also stand out.

On the other hand, by economic destination, imports of capital goods increased by 11.0% and those of intermediate goods by 4.9%; on the other hand, those of consumer goods decrease by 0.1%. By geographical areas, the increases in purchases from North America (50.8%), in the rest of the world (10.3%), in Central and South America (4.1 %) and in the European Union (3.1%); on the other hand, the decrease in purchases in other countries of Europe (−34.0%).
