Industrial Price Index. 08/2024

The industrial products price index (base 2021=100), which does not include energy, increased by 0.8% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in August 2024.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) decreased by 0.2% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices decreased by 4.1% and those of intermediate goods by 1.1%, while prices of capital goods increased by 3.4% and those of consumer goods by 1.4%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in industry wood and cork, except furniture; articles straw and plaiting materials (−3.8%) in printing and reproduction of recorded media (−2.7%). By contrast, the most significant increases in prices were registered in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (5.4%) and in manufacture of beverages (3.4%).
