Industrial Price Index. 05/2024

The industrial products price index (base 2021=100), which does not include energy, increased by 0.2% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in May 2024.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) decreased by 2.0% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices decreased by 10.7% and those of intermediate goods by 2.9%, while prices of capital goods increased by 2.9% and those of consumer goods by 1.9%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in industries of paper products (−4.3%) and in industry wood and cork, except furniture; articles straw and plaiting materials (−3.7%). By contrast, the most significant increases in prices were registered in in manufacture of beverages (3.5%) and in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (2.8%).
