Population and Housing Census. Population and dwellings by Basic Health Area. 2021-2025

Idescat is publishing for the first time data from the Population and Housing Census classified by Basic Health Areas. A population table by sex is provided for the years 2021 to 2025, along with a table of conventional family dwellings by type for 2021. Both can be consulted on the Idescat website.

The calculation of the population and the dwellings by Basic Health Areas was carried out in two stages. First, georeferenced population files were generated from the Population Census for the years 2021 to 2025 and dwelling files, from the Housing Census for the year 2021. The georeferencing of persons and dwellings involves assigning each one their position (x,y) on the map. Second, the geometry (territorial boundaries) of the Basic Health Areas in force on the reference date of each Population Census was applied to these files.

From 2025 onwards, the calculation and publication of the population and the dwellings by ABS are integrated into the annual tabulation plan of the Population and Housing Census.
