Consumer Price Index. 01/2026

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) (base 2025=100) increased by 2.0% on a year-over-year basis in Catalonia in January 2026. All groups showed positive rates of change, except clothing and footwear (−0.7%) and transport (−0.6%), The most inflationary groups are insurance and financial services (5.9%), alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics (4.5%), and restaurants and accommodation services (3.7%).

In this period, the core inflation (general index without unprocessed food and energy products) was 2.2% in Catalonia.

With the publication of the January 2026 CPI, the new base 2025 will be implemented, along with the implementation of the new international classification of consumption (ECOICOP v2).
