Start of fieldwork on the Survey on Living Conditions 2026

The collection of information for the Survey on Living Conditions 2026 has begun. The fieldwork will be performed between February and May 2026 and will collect data on the income and living conditions of Catalan households, with the aim of obtaining indicators of poverty, social exclusion and inequality, and comparing them with European indicators.

The Survey on Living Conditions 2026 is an official statistics included in the current Annual Statistical Action Programme (action 04 06 01), which implements the Law on the Statistical Plan for Catalonia 2017-2020, currently extended for the year 2026. The survey is sent to a sample of households representing the entire Catalan territory.

The Statistical Institute of Catalonia is conducting this Survey in cooperation with the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion, the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, the Barcelona City Council and the Metropolis Institute. It also receives the support of the National Statistical Institute.
