Industrial Production Index. 05/2024

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) increased by 3.7% year-over-year in Catalonia in May 2024. By large industrial sectors, there was an increase in capital goods (5.7%), consumer goods (5.1%) and intermediate goods (2.3%), while energy decreased (−0.9%).

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) increased by 4.2% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) increased by 3.7%. By large industrial sectors, there was an increase in capital goods (5.8%), consumer goods (5.2%) and intermediate goods (2.3%), and energy decreased (−0.9%).

Finally, by industrial divisions the highest increments record them the electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (16.7%), the manufacture of transport material (11.1%), and the manufacture of pharmaceutical products (10.2%), while decreased the manufacture of basic metals and metal products (−6.4%) and the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (−6.1%).
