Industrial Production Index. 04/2024

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) increased by 7.2% year-over-year in Catalonia in April 2024. By large industrial sectors, there was an increase in capital goods (15.9%), consumer goods (9.7%) and intermediate goods (2.6%), while energy decreased (−2.5%).

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) increased by 25.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) increased by 22.1%. By large industrial sectors, there was an increase in capital goods (36.1%), consumer goods (27.9%) and intermediate goods (16.7%), and energy decreased (−0.7%).

Finally, all industrial divisions registered increases, emphasising the manufacture of transport material (58.8%), the manufacture of pharmaceutical products (38.7%), and the electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (31.1%).
