Foreign Trade according to Technological Content. Q1/2024

Catalonia exported industrial products worth 23,142 million euros in the first quarter of 2024, a figure that represents a decrease of 8.7% compared with the same quarter of the previous year. Sales abroad show decreases at all technological levels and the most pronounced decrease has been that of products with a high technological content, with 15.8% year-over-year. All product groups at this level decreased in exports. Sales of medium-high technology level products decreased by 8.3%, those of medium-low level by 13.9% and those of low technology by 2.5%.

Catalonia imported industrial products worth 23,588.4 million euros in the first quarter of 2024, a figure that represents a year-over-year decrease of 10.2%. Foreign purchases of all technology levels show decreases: 17.4% in high technology level content, 8.6% in the medium-high, 15.2% in the medium-low and 5.2% in the low level.
