Statistics on unemployment benefits. 2023

The average number of unemployment benefits in Catalonia in 2023 was 223,066, 3.9% more than the previous year, and the annual economic volume stood at 3,346 million euros, with a nincrease of 6.4%.

Of these benefits, 134,496 were contribution-based, and the annual economic volume stood at 2,582 million euros. The average contributory benefit in December 2023 was 1,597 euros, with an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Regarding welfare (or non-contributory) unemployment benefits, the figure was 88,570, which translated into an annual amount of 763.8 million euros and an average allowance of 715 euros per month in December.
