Methodological note
Annual average rate of change in Harmonised Indices of Consumer Prices (HICPs) .
The data is expressed in relation to reference period 2015 = 100.
Harmonised Indices of Consumer Prices (HICPs) are designed for international comparisons of consumer price inflation.
The HICPs aim at measuring "pure" price changes using a harmonised methodology. In order to achieve this, a number of regulations set the technical frame. They cover among other things minimum standards for quality adjustment, sampling, coverage and basic aggregation formula. The HICPs are Laspeyres-type of indices.
Catalonia's CPI is expressed in relation to reference period 2016 = 100 and it's not harmonised.
