Methodological note
The mercantile companies created is a variable whose monthly data are extremely variable, but it is a useful indicator which is strongly linked to the economic situation and the expectations of economic agents.
These statistics are drawn up using information provided every month by the Central Mercantile Register about the founding (and dissolution) of mercantile companies. These are the data provided by the provincial mercantile registries for their subsequent publication in the Official Gazette of the Mercantile Registry (BORME).
Mercantile companies created means the number of companies registered in the Central Mercantile Register in the reference month regardless of the date on which they began their business operations. Companies are registered in the Central Mercantile Register by type of company and the nominal value of their equity capital according to the instrument of incorporation.
Mercantile companies dissolved means the number of cancellations in the Central Mercantile Register by type of company and the nominal value of their equity capital, according to the instrument of dissolution. These cancellations are classified by the grounds given for winding up the company.
